The FSC was formed in 1993 to promote the management of forests throughout the world in a way that is appropriate from the standpoint of environmental conservation, as well as socially beneficial and economically sustainable. Currently based in Bonn, Germany, it is a non-profit, membership (international) organization whose members include representatives from the timber industry, environmental NGOs, indigenous peoples groups, and others. Independent certification bodies conduct certification audits around the world based on the FSC’s 10 principles and 56 criteria.
We respect the FSC core labor requirements included in the FSC Chain of Custody (CoC) standard, and have established the following policy to protect the human rights of workers covered by this forest certification.

The PEFC was launched in 1999 by representatives of 11 European countries. It is currently headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. Based on intergovernmental processes for sustainable forest management, the PEFC provides evaluation standards and mutual recognition of forest management systems established individually by countries in Europe, Asia, North America, and elsewhere.
We recognize that protecting the Earth’s environment is a priority issue shared by all of humanity, and a fundamental element of corporate management. As such, we will strive to protect the natural environment and conserve resources, and work to promote the use of forest certified products as part of our efforts to promote environmentally friendly businesses that contribute to the creation of a prosperous earth and a livable society. With regard to the handling of forest certified products, we understand the requirements of forest certification systems (FSC/CoC and PEFC/CoC), and will set management regulations to comply with, and implement and maintain them.
We will disseminate this commitment to responsible handling of forest certified products to all members of our company and everyone who works for us, and also make it publicly available.
