A dominant presence in the industry and the leading share of paper distribution in Japan.
Based on the expertise and trust it has accumulated since its founding 179 years ago, the Japan Pulp & Paper Group sells paper, paperboard, and related products as a distributor for manufacturers. Today, we are pursuing new possibilities in paper and peripheral fields. While we supply various materials, daily necessities, and industrial goods with a wide range of applications, we also handle more specialized functional materials for electronic components, ecofriendly films, and packaging materials. In addition, we are leveraging the group’s collective capabilities by developing and selling ICT systems for the paper industry and mobilizing our nationwide distribution network to diversify our businesses.
In the Japanese market, particularly in the field of graphic paper, there has been a continuous decline in demand due to the shift from paper to digital media. Our group prioritizes profitability and efficiency over increasing sales volume or market share. We are committed to streamlining and enhancing efficiency to strengthen our organizational foundation. At the same time, we aim to provide new functions and added value in areas such as environmentally friendly products and logistics to ensure our group is the preferred choice for our customers.
Additionally, in 2023, we hosted the “OVOL Bridges 2023 The 2nd Paper Merchants Forum,” inviting paper wholesalers from across the country, who are also our important business partners. During this event, we announced three initiatives to promote the value of paper. Starting in 2024, we have been implementing specific measures, such as disseminating information about the value of paper. Through these new initiatives, we aim to further strengthen our group's ability to make proposals and maximize added value.
As a distributor for all paper manufacturers as well as manufacturers of other selected products, we procure products best suited to respond to market needs and also provide the market with a stable supply of publications, catalogues packaging and a wide range of other daily commodities and industrial goods.
