Current Situation in the Japan Wholesaling Segment

Stable Supply of Paper and Paperboard & the Maintenance of Market Conditions

In the Japanese market, particularly in the field of graphic paper, there has been a continuous decline in demand due to the shift from paper to digital media. Our group prioritizes profitability and efficiency over increasing sales volume or market share. We are committed to streamlining and enhancing efficiency to strengthen our organizational foundation. At the same time, we aim to provide new functions and added value in areas such as environmentally friendly products and logistics to ensure our group is the preferred choice for our customers.

Additionally, in 2023, we hosted the “OVOL Bridges 2023 The 2nd Paper Merchants Forum,” inviting paper wholesalers from across the country, who are also our important business partners. During this event, we announced three initiatives to promote the value of paper. Starting in 2024, we have been implementing specific measures, such as disseminating information about the value of paper. Through these new initiatives, we aim to further strengthen our group's ability to make proposals and maximize added value.
